My father was in the military, so travel has been important to me for as long as I can remember. In fact, I visited Japan and Hong Kong countless times before I was even ten years old. It’s no surprise, then, that from the time I was a teenager I wanted a profession in the travel industry. I originally hoped to work as a flight attendant, but happily, I ended up getting two degrees and launching a career as a travel consultant in 1999.

As head of Vacation Hotline’s Internet Department, I deal mainly with online travel requests. Although I don’t work face-to-face with clients, I find that I can develop long-lasting, meaningful relationships with them just as easily over the phone. I understand that certain people don’t want the pressure and time constraints of meeting in a travel agency office. They’re looking for fast information and insightful recommendations. So, I keep our conversations short and sweet, building their trust by providing them with discounts whenever possible and exceptional service no matter what. As a result, I have created a strong base of repeat clients, including people who feel comfortable conversing with me completely by email. I’m speedy and organized, which makes me good at this sort of consulting. If I don’t know the answer to one of their questions, I do the research and get back to them right away. My clients desire fast and reliable assistance, and as their travel consultant, that’s what I provide.

I specialize in selling all-inclusive vacations, a perfect option for many different types of travelers. Honeymooners like the concept because a lot of all-inclusive resorts cater to adults only. First- time travelers appreciate the ease and convenience of all-inclusives, while families enjoy knowing that they’re going to a place with activities for all ages. Along with all-inclusives, I’m very comfortable planning itineraries for Hawaii, Europe and cruise vacations. In order to stay up-to-date on the destinations I sell, I try to go someplace at least twice each year – somewhere that’s familiar to me and somewhere that’s new. One of my favorites was the Club Med Turquoise British West Indies, with its beautiful beaches and clear blue waters. However, I love all the places that I sell, making this the perfect job for me.
